The 15 inch screen at 1920x1080 is amazing, but I was one of the unlucky ones and had issues with stuck pixels and a slight flickering on the right side. So I opted instead of getting it fixed or replaced, to go and try out the larger 17.3 model.

Text on the 15 inch at native resolution and default font size in firefox is a bit too small causing me to step it up by a bit, and so with the larger screen that shouldn't be necessary. Also have two drives in there from the factory. Later on I plan on buying another hard drive and putting it in the optical bay.

The SSD should scream! The only reason I went with the 15 inch one in the first place was because I so very much like my laptop case that will not fit the larger laptop.

They still haven't issued the refund! So I went ahead and changed my order so that I could buy the 80GB ssd now from elsewhere online, and have it here by next week. This way I'll get three years warranty on the drive and have it before the end of the year.

Was thinking about installing it in my current old laptop until the new laptop arrives. Not sure windows is going to let me keep installing and wiping the old installation so many times. It'll be the fourth time doing it. Last time I had to call up the automated service on the phone. Would be a lot easier if there was a way to deactivate an install such as when you move to a new hard drive and don't want to clone the drive, or if you can even clone it.

Should be here Friday. I'm going to load up a live linux cd first to check out the screen. Then if it looks good I'll install the SSD and enjoy the weekend installing software and playing with it.

Been busy setting everything up, testing it. Installing my old programs. Glad I got a couple hours sleep before it arrived. Overall I'm thoroughly satisfied.

No. I don't even trust my mother with that. laugh

Sent the laptop back because when I maxed out the cpu and gpu, after a while it would shut down. So I'm guessing the power supply. Once that gets fixed, it'll be perfect! Should have it back by January 27th. It's not such a problem now as even the best games don't max out both the cpu and gpu. But in a couple years that will probably change and would rather have it fixed now.

Also no pictures will be posted. Either of me or the laptop. For we have established a bond now and I wouldn't want to take advantage of it so early into the relationship.

Was finally notified that there was nothing they would do to fix my issue. What was needed was a more powerful power brick PSU. The one they supplied was only 120 watts, and the unit at max would use 180 watts. A PSU has a lot of leeway and so could probably handle 170 watts, but 180 watts was too much. Plus you don't want to max one of them out often. I inquired about a more powerful PSU, but was notified they weren't going to do anything else except issue a refund.

I'm guessing that if they issued a larger PSU for me then they would be admitting that they have shipped all those other units with an inadequate PSU. Thus future ones they would have to ship with the more powerful one or risk documentation that the system they are selling does not have the proper power brick.

So I'm going to get a refund and be done with sager. Too many issues. Been trying to get a proper working laptop from them for three months now. I've shown enough patience in this matter.

Once I get my refund, I'm considering a ASUS G73JH-A1. Should be similar if not better performance. I'll create a new thread once I buy that one and stop posting in this thread.
