Quote:
As an added incentive for the drivers not in the playoffs over the final 10 races -- if winning a race weren't enough -- NASCAR will create an award for the highest finishing driver out of the playoffs.
This quote from the article that Colleen posted makes me hope that at least the drivers not 'in the running for the championship' will still try to win or do the best they can. But I guess we really won't know until we get down to those last 10 races of the season. But I wonder what the 'award' is really gonna be ... just a trophy or a cash prize or what?

The way some of the older drivers act, I can just imagine if a rookie or other driver not in the top ten looses a tire or motor or screws up some how and takes out a half a dozen of the top drivers. They will probably be screaming for public hangings.

I just had a thought maybe the NASCAR folk never heard of new coke. We could tell them but I'm beginning to think they couldn't take a hint.

This is beginning to sound like they want a return to the old Alabama gang days. Where they didn't want anyone else to run except their friends and cronies. That is pretty much how it was when Alan Kulwicky (hope I spelled that right)first came along and look how he changed the sport.
